Thanks for the thoughts, Mike. It really is none of his business whether I serve in the military or not, and history has taught never to discuss one’s current employment on one’s weblog. Your mileage may vary, though.
Also, thanks for bringing the CMP to my attention… Going to have to see if they allow that kind of thing in Kalifornistan. I agree with you on my firearms, though… if these are evil baby-killing demon-guns, I want a bloody refund. They seem to be defective.

A post I put at left rudder. Will never make it through the filter there. In response to your “hate mail”.
Don’t fret about those who are in the military and those that aren’t. Last time I checked, there is an all volunteer military and a Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) to put military style weapons into civilian hands. If Linoge is ever called up in a time of national crisis, it will take that much less time to train him.

Fair enough, Harp. I just do not so much like the idea of “error” when adjusting a multi-hundred-dollar tool by myself with no previous experience. Ah’m a scardy-cat like that.
Guess I need to see if any of the few rifle ranges in the area have a bench/rest/sandbag I could use…

You have read how to sight in a rifle. Now go to the range and just do it. You will only learn by doing it. Trial and error.
