Over the past few days, quite a few people have been documenting why they love America. This is, of course, understandable, considering that yesterday was the Fourth of July – the day America declared her independence from the oppressive rule of the British.
Far be it for me to jump on a bandwagon, but I think I can make an exception considering the day. And, after all, I am a day late – that has to make up for something.
So, why do I love America?
Because, despite making fun of whites, blacks, Muslims, Jews, Christians, Hari Krishnas, homosexuals, heterosexuals, nuns, children, rich people, poor people, smokers, drinkers, drug addicts, Japanese, and just about everyone else under the sun, Airplane can still be shown on the television… on the Fourth of July itself.
