. In that vein, if you are looking for a new hosting solution on which to put your weblog, I now recommend DreamHost. I wanted to give them a few months before I "officially" recommended them on this weblog (besides the initial "Ooh, lookie!" recommendation earlier), but, in the past four months I have been using them, I have not detected a single problem or hiccup… So, here is the recommendation . Good company, and surprisingly cheap for what they offer.
That said, I am offering you a way to make it even more cheap… If you decide to move over to DreamHost, provide the code "WOTC" as your promo code when you are signing up… that gets you $40 off any of their hosting plans… any of them. Right then and there. Sounds good to you? Yeah, it does to me as well . Their plans are constantly in flux, it would seem, but they are always running some manner of special, and the facilities, programs, and software they offer definitely meets the needs of a "basic" webhost, if not actually venturing into the "serious" web-hosting arena.
(Oh, and for all of the pen-happy lawyers out there, "WOTC" stands for "Walls of the City", not some other organization.)
