As some of you may or may not know, the movie industry recently chose a new James Bond – Daniel Craig. As all of you do not know, I am not fond of that choice. His acting in Tomb Raider was pathetically formulaic, generally uninspiring, and completely … well … spineless. In all fairness, it could have been his role, but, to put it simply, I cannot see him as a debonnaire lady’s man who also happens to break heads off and hack into national security complexes. And then there are his looks… admittedly, he is a remarkably well-built individual, but his face… meh. When you compare him to the past Bonds, he really ain’t all that.
Well, imagine my chagrin when a new Bond Girl was chosen – a certain Eva Green. Better Half said that my facial expression upon seeing that article was "very funny… in that ‘OMG he’s scared shitless’ sort of way". Well, to be honest, I was. That woman has got to be one of the most hideous choices for a Bond Girl I could have ever thought of, and has absolutely zero, zilch, nada, and nothing on any of the other Girls of the past. Someone has absolutely no eye for classic attractiveness, and was blinded by an arguably nice pair of boobs (NSFW). Sorry, but boobs have no bearing on a Bond Girl, and while she may have a very colorful acting background, Bond Girls are all about looks, which are demonstrably lacking in her case. She looks like a bloody medieval peasant, not an elegant, self-assured, woman with all the charm and lethality of a siren.
*sigh* None of these new schmucks have anything on the old ones… Even Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry were better than the current choices. Bond is dead. If the world ever needs saving again, God help us all.
